I'm not sure the printer will produce what I want, can I get a sample to see?
Yes, please contact us to discuss your requirements. We can send you a sample printed part or if you have a particular design file yourself we can look at running a test print for you. We can advise as to which of our range of 3D printers is most suitable for your needs.
What is the maximum size of a 3D print at desktop level?
The maximum size object that a desktop 3D printer can print will depend on the particular desktop printer. As a guide, the majority of 3D printers within our range comfortably print something the size of a mug. Many can print an object the size of a basketball or slightly larger. There are some specific 3D printers that offer increased height capacity, such as the MakerBot Replicator Z18 (up to 457mm height) and the Ultimaker 2 Extended (up to 305mm height). How do I get started making stuff?
There are a number of ways to get printing, but to start with you must have a finished 3D design file. The best file format for 3D printing at the desktop level is STL.
You can design your own 3D models using a range of CAD design programmes such as AutoDesk, Solidworks and Rhino. There are also a number of free CAD or 3D design packages on the market including Sketchup, Autodesk Shapeshifter, Google Build with Chrome, and Sculptris, although these may have limited functionalities.
Can I 3D print everything?
Whilst a 3D printer can in theory print any 3D design file, some things will not print so well. For example, printing very small, complex or 'overhanging' structures can be difficult for some of the desktop 3D printers to produce. When designing your file, it's important to think about how the printer operates. The better the design file is oriented for 3D printing, the better the chance the 3D printer has of producing a good output.

Do I need to book an appointment to see your range of 3D printers?
We strongly recommend arranging an appointment to meet with one of our experienced CREAT3D team members who will be able to talk you through the range of 3D printers available.

Delivery & Payment
What is the cost of delivery?
As standard we offer free UK mainland next working day delivery (excluding public holidays. Order by 3pm previous working day), for all products in stock on our website over the value of £100 (excl. VAT).
For orders under £100, there will be a delivery charge of £6.85 (£8.22 incl. VAT), this will automatically be applied to your shopping basket at checkout.
Deliveries to non-UK mainland are priced separately.

Do you ship overseas?
Whilst we typically work with customers based in the UK, delivering to UK addresses or arranging collection from our showroom in Reading, we may be able to assist you if you are based overseas. Please contact us for more details.
What payment methods are accepted?
We have a number of payment methods you can use which include credit and debit card payment and bank transfer. Payment must be received prior to dispatch. Unfortunately we do not accept American Express.
For Businesses wishing to pay by invoice/bank transfer, please select this option at the checkout.
We also offer a range of Finance options for Businesses and some educational establishments.
Can I register my details in an account with you?
Yes, you can Create an Account with us to store your personal details, and progress through the checkout stages quicker. Registering with us also allows you to see your order history and order status.
Where can I find our invoices or get a copy of an invoice?
Your order confirmation will contain a copy of your invoice relating to that specific order. If you have an Account, you can Sign In to see your order history and download the relevant invoices.
