Leapfrog Creatr HS firmware update

Leapfrog have released a major new firmware update (v2.2) for the Leapfrog Creatr HS 3D printer.
New firmware (version 2.2) features include:
Previous firmware versions relied heavily on the use of Simplify3D software to calibrate the printer. With the new firmware, we see an improved homing sequence, bed calibration and a printer information screen, whilst retaining the ability to run the printer via your computer/laptop for additional control if required.
The new firmware includes a simple bed calibration function run via the onboard colour display. The wizard uses the tried and tested paper method utilised by Ultimaker and the MakerBot Replicator 2 to set the z-gap in all 4 corners of the print bed and level the build plate.
A much easier process than connecting via USB cable and using the Simplify3D software to control the bed height.
Easy firmware updates
No more USB cable for updates! We love the fact you can just copy the firmware file onto a USB stick, pop this in the front of the printer and select the file.
Leapfrog have also cleaned up a lot of their firmware code which means the firmware update process is noticeably quicker.
New temperature settings
Eagle-eyed Creatr HS users will have noticed that the nozzle temperature can overshoot the target temperature during heating. This has now been addressed, particularly useful for when printing with temperature sensitive materials such as PVA.
Overall, the new firmware update has made some great improvements to increased usability and more streamlined processes.
